The Miss
& Teen Pageants have been postponed due to the inability of the
North Florida Scholarship Organization to resolve its differences in
an amicable fashion with the Miss Florida Scholarship Pageant.
Miss Florida has refused to renew the NFSO's franchise without
cause. The NFSO has done everything possible to resolve
this matter short of litigation, but such efforts have been ignored by the
Miss Florida board. As of 1/19/07, the NFSO has filed
suit against the Miss Florida Scholarship Pageant requesting
injunctive relief and for breach of contract and resulting monetary
damages. The NFSO has been a proud supporter and
producer of a Miss America local preliminary and this suit in no way
should be interpreted to claim any fault on the Miss America
Organization.
