JACKSONVILLE AREA TITLEHOLDERS MAKE THEIR MARK ON
THE FIRST EVER MISS FLORIDA'S OUTSTANDING TEEN PAGEANT
Twenty six contestants from all over the state of Florida came together
in Lakeland, Florida at the Polk Theatre to compete in the first
Miss Florida's Outstanding Teen Pageant,
a teen state preliminary pageant sponsored by the Miss Florida Pageant.
These contestants participated in interview, fitness wear, casual wear,
talent, on-stage questions, and evening gown competitions. The event
took place over two evenings (April 22-23, 2005). Local representatives,
Samantha Snyder Miss Jacksonville Teen 2005, Sarah Lee Fitzpatrick Miss
First Coast Teen 2005, and Sydney Keister Miss St. Augustine Teen 2005
made our area proud as they shined every time they were on stage, and
all three become finalists by landing in the
Top 5. Rehearsals were long and demanding, but seem to be a
source of fun for these three young ladies.
Miss St. Augustine Teen 2005, Sydney Keister,
danced and tumbled her way into the audience's hearts with her talent
"Fanstasmic." She is a sophomore at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts,
and she captured the 1st Runner Up position in the state pageant.
Miss Jacksonville Teen 2005, Samantha Snyder,
wowed the audience with her amazing abilities with her dance performance
to "Mirror." She is a junior at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, and
she walked away with 2nd Runner Up in the state pageant.
Miss First Coast Teen 2005, Sarah Lee
Fitzpatrick, got the audience moving in their seats with her
piano rendition of "Maple Leaf Rag." She is a junior at Bradford High
School, and was awarded 3rd Runner Up and Most Photogenic in the state
pageant.

Another honorable mention from the North Florida area was Shannon

great enthusiasm, securing her a position as a semifinalist in the Top
10.
