Character education is critical in today’s society. Since character is not something we are born with, it must be developed by example and constant reinforcement.

Brittany Sexton, Miss Jacksonville 2006, is an active Character Coach with the "Character Counts!" organization and speaks to our youth on character-building subjects such as Respect and Responsibility.   By using the Six Pillars, students become more familiar with the values of character.   The Six Pillars include: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.    These are the universal core values of character that are necessary for character development in today’s youth.
