The Sunshine Princess program
is designed to introduce young girls to the Miss Florida program before
they reach competition age and also to allow them to realize that Miss
America is not just a dream, but something they can begin preparing for
at a young age. It allows them to work closely with a Miss Florida
contestant who will serve as their role model and mentor through
community service. Participants must be at
least five years of age, but no older than twelve on the
date of the Miss Florida Pageant. Each Miss Florida
contestant can have from one to five princesses. All
princesses will participate on stage in some aspect of the Miss Florida
Pageant during pageant week.

Production Number / Costume
- If the Producer of the Miss Florida Pageant
chooses to use the Sunshine Princesses in a production number, there
will be an additional costume fee. Such will be

all princesses wore a white dress, but that is subject to change.
Guidelines Continued:
- Program Book Advertising: Each
princess is encouraged to sell at least one ad for the Miss Florida
Program book. The Princess can have a discounted erate of
$200.00 for the first page of advertising sold; all pages sold after
the first page for the discounted rate would be at the contestant's
rate of $350.00. Ads must include a reference to the Miss
Florida contestant the princess is supporting. The
princess with the most ads sold will be named "Florida Sunshine
Princess of the Year." The winner will have her photo
placed on the state website and will receive a U.S. Savings Bond.
- Crowns & T-Shirts: The
contestant should explain to the princess and her family that the
crown is not a toy and should be handled with care. It should
not be worn except on official appearances as a Florida Sunshine
Princess. If the crown is broken, it is the responsibility of
the Princess and her family to replace it at a cost of $70.00.
If more than one T-Shirt is required for any reason the cost will be
$10.00 for each additional shirt.
- Dress and Activities: Dress
requirements and activities for the week will be given at a later
date.
Miscellaneous
- Princesses can be friends, family, or anyone
interested in participating, as long as they meet the age
requirements.
- If we get multiple requests for our
Jacksonville/First Coast titleholders, we will divide up the entries
so that our titleholders have approximately the same amount of
princesses.
